Bushcraft EDC
This one kind of just happened without a plan. I wanted to start with something similar to the bushcrafting profile Ray Mears came up with, but something smaller. I'm not sure if I gravitate towards the smaller knives because I worry about warping, or if it's just that I prefer something... less.
In any case, I'm happiest with this knife of all that I have made so far. Sharpening is not a fun task for me, but this time around it went quicker, and I ended up with a rather sharp edge. The knife originally had traditionally profiles micarta scales, but they became so smooth, they were slippery. In the past ,I've experimented with 'scalloping' scales, and I know it creates plenty of grippy surfaces to give the user confidence the knife won't slip, or otherwise move unexpectedly. Ultimately, aside from the knife now being far more functional, I like the black and gray contouring lines.
Is the knife perfect? Not by a mile, but I'm okay with that, and the imperfections make this knife that much easier to carry, and actually use without worrying that I may scratch a pristine polished blade, or dent a perfect handle. This is a knife I'm happy to carry daily.
